This is an original composition, not an arrangement. My sister wrote the lyrics and graciously asked me to do the musical setting. The text is taken from various scriptures pertaining to the Lord's admonition to be strong, firm, and unwavering (compare to the first chapter of the book of Joshua).
In the musical setting, I have tried to capture the quiet strength of the hand of the Lord in our lives. The music starts out peacfully, rises to a soaring climax, and ends quietly with an admonition to be at peace. I think you will thoroughly enjoy performing Be Thou Strong. It is a moving blend of courage and peace. |
